Using Manufactuer's Bar Code

The Pharmacy Subcommittee at Kings County Hospital in Brooklyn is considering the use of the manufacturer's bar code for BCMA.

What is your experience with the use of the manufacturer's bar code, as opposed to NDC number or system-generated number for BCMA?

The committee would really appreciate your recommendations for a BCMA solution for heparin vials, pre-mix syringes, ointments, etc., if the manufacturer's bar code is not acceptable.
