Seeking CEO IT Achievement Award nominees

If your CEO has been an exceptional champion for your IT strategies, perhaps a nomination is in order?

Modern Healthcare is seeking nominations for its fifth annual CEO IT Achievement Award competition. The award, co-sponsored by the healthcare Information and Management Systems Society, honors one or more healthcare industry chief executive officers who demonstrate leadership and commitment to using information technology to advance their healthcare organizations’ strategic goals.

Entries can be submitted at http://www2.himss.org/2007ceoit/. The submission deadline is March 26. A panel of CEOs and chief information officers will judge the competition. The winner or winners will be announced in the April 30 issue of Modern Healthcare, and award recipients will be profiled in a special section in the June 25 issue.

A total of nine CEOs have received the award since the recognition program’s inception in 2003. Last year’s competition drew a record 70 entries, with one CEO being chosen as the award winner.

Modern Healthcare and HIMSS will honor this year’s recipients at a special breakfast event during the HIMSS annual summit to be held in San Diego on June 26. At that event, recipients will give short presentations on their organizations’ IT programs.
