NDC on outer box does not match discrete doses

Is it just me or are more and more manufacturers
printing one NDC on the outer box and another one on each discrete dose. For example, Novaplus Ampicillin Inj 500mg is 0781-9407-95 on the box but 0781-9407-78 on the vial.

I can understand the rationale but our application (Epic) runs off FDB and it the -78 NDC fails database lookup.

Sandoz, Merck and Elkins-Sinn seem to be major players here. How are you handling this?
