Bed Side Bar Coding per Nursing

Good Morning,

Here at Duke University Health System, the Laboratory staff scans the patient ID band at the bedside, but there is not enough Phlebotomist to do this. So, Nursing is looking into several softwares to assist in bedside barcode/scanning.

Is there another health system that has achieve this and which software/hardware are you using? Is the RN scanning at the bedside? As for hardware, we are trailing mobile/hardwired Zebra printers and Motorola MC70 handheld.
