Barcode systems and keeping up-to-date on all NDCs purchased

Good morning -

We are in the process of building a point-of-care medication
administration system (McKesson's AdminRx) for 8 facilities and have
purchased packaging and dispensing technology in the pharmacy to
support this. Each pharmacy is getting automation that links to a
shared database to support barcoding (McKesson's ConnectRx software,
bulk packagers for the smaller sites, Robot/Carousel/Pacmed for the
large site). We have a pharmacy IT department for the health system
that supports these products and maintains the formulary and NDC
databases.

Have any of you developed a communication process for multiple
facilities to track NDCs that are purchased and therefore need to be
added to the pharmacy system, packaging system, and point-of-care
system? If so, would you be willing to describe your process? I am
trying to come up with a way to keep all systems up-to-date so the
barcodes are there when needed.
